Location: Salt Lake City, UT

  • Travel required to various material receiving yards primarily in the Wasatch Front/Northern Utah areas, with occasional travel elsewhere in the state or to Wyoming.
  • The role includes outdoor work in all weather conditions and is approximately 50% site-based and 50% office-based.


About the Role:

The Materials Coordinator will coordinate and track the receipt, offloading, and storage of construction materials and equipment for transmission, distribution, and substation projects. This individual will collaborate closely with the project management team, contractors, shippers, and delivery drivers to ensure materials are received, inspected, and properly documented.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with project management teams, lifting contractors, shippers, and delivery drivers for the efficient receipt of materials.
  • Perform initial inspections of received materials to verify order completeness, identify any damage, and ensure compliance with the Bill of Lading.
  • Sign and receive delivered materials while maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Document and track inventory in the enterprise management system, noting any missing or damaged items.
  • Provide regular status reports and updates to the project management team.
  • Address issues with received materials and respond to status inquiries.
  • Collaborate with construction contractors to distribute materials to construction sites.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Valid driver's license.


Experience:

  • This role is ideal for either a project coordinator with 3+ years of experience or an experienced industry craft worker seeking a new challenge.
