Job Description Summary


Personal Bankers (PBs) are integral to providing Texas National Bank customers and prospective customers with the highest level of service. PBs are responsible for a variety of customer service duties, understanding a customer’s needs, proposing appropriate solutions, and assisting with customer relationship management. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude and will be comfortable working closely with customers in a friendly and professional manner.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Texas National Bank Personal Banker


  • Opens new accounts, certificates of deposit, and all other ancillary products offered by the bank; answers customer questions, provides account opening information, and ensures that proper paperwork is completed and entered on the computer system.
  • Assists customers with routine questions and requests: balance inquiries, temporary statements, check copies, stop payments, holds, online banking, ACH, automatic funds transfer, direct deposit, wire processing, coin processing, notary services, and privacy.
  • Serves customers quickly, accurately, efficiently, and confidentially within established limits.
  • Explains policies and procedures as necessary, keeping in mind most customers’ unfamiliarity with them.
  • Resolves customer problems and complaints with courtesy and discretion and directs customers with difficult problems to other team members for assistance. Considers problems and complaints as opportunities to satisfy the customer and promote additional services.
  • Is knowledgeable of the financial services offered by the bank.
  • Shows sincere appreciation for each customer’s time and business.
  • Assures that bank records, reports and other correspondence resulting from customer development attempts are correct, timely and are properly maintained.
  • Presents a neat and professional personal appearance, in accordance with bank policy.
  • Maintains a neat, orderly, and attractive work area. 
  • Assesses and effectively manages all risks associated with job function within Texas National Bank compliance and regulations. Knows and ensures compliance with all banking regulations.
  • Develops a strong understanding of customer facing technology with the ability to discuss with and enroll customers in self-service options.
  • Able to identify customer needs and expectations by listening for clues and through meaningful conversations. Seeks the opportunity to expand customer relationships by making referrals to other areas of the bank.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience


Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: 18 months of Customer Service/Sales experience; Previous banking experience preferred.


Computer Skills


To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong knowledge of PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office 365.


Work Environment


This position is in an open lobby area with an individual desk.
