Recruiting Solution is seeking an experienced electrical engineer for a company in the Sumter, SC area. The ideal candidate will have experience with PLC hardware using ladder logic, various HMI hardware, and experience with communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, and CANbus.

Qualifications:

  • Familiar with communication structures using managed switches and fiber optic ring configurations
  • Experience with various PLC hardware using ladder logic, function block and structured text based programming
  • Experience with various HMI hardware developing custom multi screen applications
  • Experience with various communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, and CANbus
  • Familiar with low and medium voltage switchgear including design principles and associated hardware
  • Understanding obsolescence replacement and design
  • Able to read and design to various requirement specs including: MIL, ABS, ANSI, and IEEE
  • Familiar with equipment qualification to MIL and IEX standards including shock, vibration, and EMI qualification
  • Strong technical writing skills to support the proposal team with development of technical proposals for new contracts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs, AutoCAD, and Solidworks a plus
  • Field service at times required for troubleshooting and project support or installation - travel times vary - about three times per year
  • PE designation a plus
  • US Citizenship Required

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with customers on various subjects including troubleshooting support and progress update
  • Develop custom multiscreen applications for HMI hardware
  • Read and interpret various drawings including electrical schematics, interface drawings and CAD drawings
  • Test low voltage equipment such as motor controllers, electrical switchgear, control panels, etc
  • Follow quality assurance procedures in place to ensure all product discrepancies are resolved prior to product shipment and equipment testing is properly documented
