Position: Telecommunications Service Representative
The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is seeking a Telecommunications Service Representative to provide technical support and coordinate the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and services for our district’s schools and offices.
Position Overview:
The Telecommunications Service Representative will handle the coordination and troubleshooting of digital and voice services, including Fiber, LTE, DSL, T1, and telecommunications equipment such as phones, cellular devices, wiring, and switches. You will work closely with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless service and optimal functionality for the district’s telecommunications infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level technical support for telecom service requests via phone, email, or online
- Coordinate the ordering, installation, and repair of telecommunications services and equipment
- Analyze telecommunications requirements and recommend cost-effective solutions
- Track and monitor service requests and equipment orders to ensure timely completion
- Maintain accurate records in SAP and other incident management systems
- Provide training on the use of telecom equipment and services to district staff
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of experience in telecommunications service coordination or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and incident management systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to assess telecommunications technology needs and recommend solutions
- Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation
