Role Purpose: As a Software Security Commodity Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams comprising business unit developers, engineers, IT professionals, and contract specialists. Your mission is to manage global sourcing strategies, improve total cost, quality, and service, and lead supplier relationships. You will support risk mitigation programs impacting our supply base, aligning with our security strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing Strategy Development: Develop and drive the sourcing strategy for assigned software and technology commodities, ensuring continuous improvement in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Implementation and Compliance: Communicate and manage business unit compliance with the sourcing strategy, establishing strong working relationships with Engineering, Plant Operations, Suppliers, and Product Quality functions.
  • Leadership: Lead and drive results within strategic sourcing teams for embedded software and Brand Label suppliers, acting as a catalyst for change to achieve business goals.
  • Expertise Development: Partner with business units to understand goals and formulate strategies, staying current on market trends, supplier economics, and best practices.
  • Supplier Management: Monitor and evaluate supplier performance in security, quality, delivery, and lead time, conducting regular strategic business reviews to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Performance Measurement: Track and report on Sourcing KPIs, providing monthly updates to senior management on key performance indicators.
  • TCO Reduction: Identify and implement Total Cost of Ownership reduction opportunities, championing productivity improvements within sourcing strategy alignment.
  • Cultural Leadership: Foster an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing work culture.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure familiarity and compliance with sourcing policies and procedures.


Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in direct material and/or strategic sourcing within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Basic knowledge of commodities, supply management practices, and analytics.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Conflict resolution, strategy development, and project management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronics and factored product/brand label commodities.
  • Project management skills and the ability to manage complex assignments.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP, and data management applications (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Advanced formal degree preferred.

  • Responsible for managing an annual spend of up to $75 million.
  • Understanding of basic engineering concepts and product designs.
  • Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects simultaneously.
  • Basic understanding of software security practices.


Role Requirements:

  • Up to 20% travel, both International and Domestic.
  • Support for regional teams across different time zones.
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities and a mix of daily duties, including legal reviews, supplier negotiations, security reviews, and workshops with engineers.
