The ideal candidate will handle all title-related tasks, including full title searches, updates, issuing reports, title commitments, proforma policies, and drafting preliminary conveyancing and closing documents for attorney review. Additional responsibilities may include preparing settlement statements, real estate transfer tax forms, and assisting with other related tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct full title searches, title updates, and issue reports.
- Prepare title commitments, proforma policies, and drafts of conveyancing and closing documents.
- Assist with settlement statements and real estate transfer tax forms.
- Collaborate with attorneys and other team members on real estate matters.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with Title Examination Standards (experience in multiple jurisdictions is a plus).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and high ethical standards.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently with sound judgment.
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, including direct interaction with clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 5+ years of experience as a Real Estate Paralegal, with strong knowledge of legal terminology and title processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and legal software.
- Paralegal certification, title experience, and producer title license are strongly preferred.
- Commitment to continuing legal education is encouraged.
