JOB SUMMARY:
- The main function of a logistics specialist is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to the production schedule. A typical logistics specialist is responsible for reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules and compiling reports on inventory levels, cost, etc.
- 100% TRAVEL REQUIRED - Frequent daily travel to various warehouse sites is required. Must be comfortable with extensive travel, including being away from home for up to 5 days per week and staying in hotels. Travel expenses will be covered.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Examine documents, materials, and products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformation to standards and specifications.
- Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities.
- Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
- Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
- Revise production schedule, when required, due to design changes, labor or material shortages, or other interruptions.
- Distribute production schedules and work orders to departments.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 5 to 7 years of experience in a logistics, warehouse environment is required.
- Bachelor's degree is required.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Reporting of key performance indicators
- High proficiency in MS products including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is required
- SAP experience preferred
- Results-driven with the ability to handle multiple projects
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Strong critical thinking: analysis, interpretation, and explanation
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Comfortable in a multicultural business environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective time management skills
- Self-starter, able to work without supervision
- Capable of interacting with all levels of management, including executives
- Able to perform under time-sensitive schedules, managing technical data feedback and language barriers
