We are looking for a Capacity Analyst / Data Analyst with strong Tableau/Power BI skills to support a Data Center project for one of our clients in the San Francisco/CA area.

Data Center or Network Operations experience is required.

This person will be responsible for data analysis, reporting and building Tableau dashboards for their Data Center Capacity Planning, but will also have a part in the Capacity Planning process (not just reporting/dashboards) so needs to come from a similar background. Not just heads down data/reporting/visualization.

Will be working remote but needs to be local to either the San Francisco or Phoenix areas to be able to come onsite occasionally ad hoc/for meetings. No set onsite/hybrid schedule, but able to come in when needed

This is a w2 project - Remote but must be local to San Francisco for as-needed onsite meetings, etc.

REQUIRED skills: Capacity Planning, or Demand Planning or Data Center Logistics Planning or Business Operations.

What to Expect

The Capacity & Efficiency Management team is responsible for the end-to-end planning and allocation of compute, data, storage and network capacity. We work with various teams to understand their demand to build long range forecast models, and we also work with suppliers to ensure we are able to keep pace with the growth of the business. The other side of our team also manages non-capacity related budgets for our wider organization. The Analyst in this team will create dashboards that analyze key performance indicators, contribute to the growth and maturity of our insights, and work directly with engineering teams to make system improvements to improve data processing and accessibility.

What You’ll Do

  • Apply a product-centric approach to data and reporting, ensuring discoverability through user-friendly documentation and trustworthiness with rigorous data tests
  • Design, build, and maintain data sources & data models to ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility for analysis
  • Collect, analyze, and present data from various sources when provided a subset of potentially unrelated data points/filters to draw conclusions
  • Effectively communicate data analysis to non-technical audiences unfamiliar with the domain
  • Recognize patterns to define gaps in the applicant tracking system and drive change at a system level with responsible parties (end users, system admins, etc.)
  • Ensure successful integration with downstream systems and accurate reporting to stakeholders

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in data Analytics, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience working with Capacity or Business Operations teams
  • Prior relational database experience
  • Proficiency in SQL and other common query languages
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Critical thinking and a first principles approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work autonomously, identify opportunities and provide recommendations in an ambiguous environment
  • Prior experience working with & understanding financial datasets and their relationships (e.g. Purchases, Invoices, General Ledger entries), preferably from Oracle or similar ERPs
