Role Overview:

We are seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to join our client's Infrastructure Team. This role involves close collaboration with Server System Engineers and other Enterprise teams within the organization. The DBA will play a crucial role in migrating to new versions of SQL and ensuring the availability and optimization of our current MSSQL databases, ranging from 2008 to 2022. Occasionally, the DBA may also work with other database platforms such as Oracle. The ideal candidate will have experience with ETL processes and knowledge of Azure SQL Database and Managed Instances. This position follows a hybrid work model, with some on-site work required in St. Paul, MN.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support SQL Server applications.
  • Support SQL Server components, including SSIS and SSRS.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
  • Perform SQL backups and manage Disaster Recovery procedures.
  • Execute database migrations and upgrades.
  • Work with Azure SQL technologies.
  • Document work and processes meticulously.
  • Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to other DBAs on the team.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency with SQL Server applications and supporting components, including SSIS and SSRS.
  • Strong background in maintaining and troubleshooting ETL processes.
  • Experience mentoring IT staff and contributing to database design.
  • Ability to assess and introduce new technologies to enhance database infrastructure operations.
  • Proven experience as a lead worker within a team of subject matter experts.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Azure SQL technologies.
  • Familiarity with AlwaysOn and other High Availability SQL technologies.
