The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:


Creates and maintains design files, both 2D and 3D, based on internal and external customer requirements including kinematics, packaging and clearance files.

Develops advanced level design proposals.

Recommends alternative design scenarios to meet or exceed customer requirements.

Interfaces with Project Engineering, Manufacturing Division and Customer to meet requirements for assigned project.

Interfaces with Manufacturing Division to ensure that all DFM&A requirements are met.

Comprehensive knowledge of GM’s TCe and VAS.

Required to work extra hours and travel to meet Customer if needed.

All other reasonable duties and responsibilities assigned as deemed necessary by Supervisor.



Qualifications include, but are not limited to the following:


Proficiency in NX, Sketcher, GM TCe and VAS.

Design proficiency in Fluid handling commodities (e.g. Brake Lines, Fuel Lines, Fill Pipes)

Design proficiency in Metallics (e.g. Cradles, Suspension components and stampings)

Formal training in specified CAD system with a minimum of 5 years practical application.

Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Good organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Good computer proficiency.

May be required to have proficiency in languages other than English.

High School diploma.

10 years of experience or equivalent.
