FUNCTION:

The IT and ERP Support Technician is responsible for ensuring that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.


 SUMMARY: Provides moderately complex help desk and computer support. Work involves providing first-level support to the user community for computer hardware and software-related questions and troubleshooting via the phone or remote connection. Installs computer hardware and software and provides user training and technical assistance

 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.:

¨     Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization

¨     Installs computer hardware and software, including memory, SSDs, operating systems, Microsoft 365 and other required accessories and applications.

¨     Configures Windows, ERP (IQMS/Oracle) virtual private network (VPN) and local area network (LAN) access.

¨     Perform routine maintenance of company equipment and telecommunications.

 ¨     Troubleshoots and resolves moderately complex hardware and software problems.

¨     Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.

¨     Provides hardware and best practice training to end users.

¨     Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance

¨     Upgrade systems to enable compatible software

¨     Perform Tests on new hardware and software

¨     Define software, hardware and network requirements

¨     Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

¨     Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer science or engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience

¨     Proven experience an IT Technician, System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role

¨     Knowledge of electrical safety.

¨     Working knowledge of the practices, principles and techniques of computer operations and skill in using a computer with word processing, spreadsheet and database software.

¨     Ability to work extended and irregular hours due to internal and external obligations and to travel occasionally for training.

¨     Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery

¨     Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management

¨     Active Directory, Group Policy and Exchange Online experience required

¨     Experience with Oracle Database preferred

¨     Excellent communication skills.

¨     Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude

¨     Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols

  • ¨     Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
