Experience:
- At least two years of experience in human resources, insurance, or closely a related field
Major Responsibilities:
Leave Administration
1. Handle all long- term or short-term absences in accordance with established guidelines, such as determining eligibility for various leave programs (i.e., family medical leave, temporary disability leave, and workers’ compensation).
2. Counsel employees about leave benefits and provide accurate information about absences such as pay deductions, medical certification requirements, return- to- work dates, and fitness – for duty requirements, and notify supervisors in a timely manner.
3. Collaborate with the Payroll Department to process and coordinate all employee leaves and absences.
4. Review absence reports daily for employees who are actively on any long- term or short-term leave.
5. Assist with day- to-day benefits operations.
Benefits Administration
6. Handle employee benefit inquiries and complaints in a timely, equitable, and courteous manner.
7. Act as a liaison between employees and the claims office of the insurance carrier, and resolve administrative issues with insurance carrier representatives.
8. Assist in the organization of benefit orientation meetings and the enrollment of the new employees in benefit plans.
9. Assist employees in making effective use of benefits.
10. Work with the Benefits Manager to help with data entry and report preparation for third- party administrators (i.e.; Higginbotham Public Sector and National Benefits Services).
11. Compile, maintain, and file all required reports, records, and other documents.
Records, Reports, and Correspondence
12. Follow districts standards and requirements when preparing correspondence, forms and reports.
13. Keep accurate records of employee leave and benefits, including confidential medical information, in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations, as well as charter policies and procedures.

14. Adhere to the charter’s safety protocols and emergency procedures.
15. Answer and respond to incoming calls, take accurate messages, and route them to the appropriate personnel.
16. Greet visitors, assist employees and applicants with application paperwork completion.
17. Self- Motivated and work well with others.
18. Ability to instruct and/ or train.
19. Appearance and demeanor reveal a positive attitude.
20. High standard of honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
21. Any and all other duties assigned by supervisor.
