Our client is seeking a Lab Technician to work in Covington, LA, for an initial 12 month assignment.


Responsibilities:

  • Log in samples and communicate with customers to determine work requests.
  • Prepare solid and fluid samples for analysis.
  • Perform sample extractions, SEM imaging and spectroscopy, particle analysis, x-ray diffraction, and other analyses as needed.
  • Prepare crude oil samples for analysis, process for bulk properties, and long-term storage.
  • Provide secondary analytical support across all sections of the tech center.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and operate multiple pieces of equipment necessary to conduct experiments.
  • Perform routine lab maintenance, housekeeping, and sample inventory management.


Requirements:

  • 1-3+ years of experience working in a laboratory setting.
  • Bachelor or Associate degree in materials science, chemical engineering, chemistry, or other related scientific discipline.
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting.
  • Experience with scanning electron microscopy, materials characterization, including imaging, spectroscopy, and elemental analysis.
