Job Title: Quality Engineer

We offer our customers a strategic partner for every step of the process from engineering and design through supply chain management, sample development, manufacturing, prototype approval, and ongoing production.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan and direct activities concerned with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.
  • Direct workers engaged in measuring and testing products and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
  • Compile and write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform internal/external auditing of Quality and Supplier IATF 16949/ISO 9001/ISO 14001.
  • Monitor and measure supplier performance and drive appropriate action.
  • Perform investigations of non-conformances and product deviations.
  • Write and/or review SOPs for facility, equipment, material handling, and other areas.
  • Review and approve facility and equipment validation documentation, analytical method validations, equipment qualification packages, and PPAP documentation.
  • Conduct root cause investigations into non-conformances and help implement corrective actions.
  • Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment.
  • Formulate or assist in formulating quality control policies and procedures when required.
  • Perform PPAP on new customer parts, new revisions, and annual re-PPAP.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Use inspection tools to measure parts.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Provide assistance in other areas of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, research and development, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, and software.
  • Provide various data (scrap, units produced, units shipped, units returned) for management reporting.
  • Interface with customers.

Education and Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Three years of manufacturing experience, preferably in stamping, welding, painting, and plating.
  • One year of supplier quality/development experience in a multinational manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience in a sheet metal fabrication or stamping environment.
  • Knowledge of root cause/corrective action methodologies (8D, 5 WHY, PDCA, 3L5Y).
  • Proficiency in MiniTab, GD&T, blueprints, schematics, and APDP/Core tools.
