Job Description:

As a Probate Litigation Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys by managing probate cases, drafting legal documents, and conducting research. Your work will directly impact our clients' experiences and outcomes in probate proceedings. We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about wills, trusts, and estates law.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in managing and preparing probate and estate litigation cases from inception to resolution.
  • Draft and review legal documents including petitions, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare summaries of findings.
  • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents and evidence are properly indexed and stored.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to coordinate case activities and updates.
  • Prepare and file court documents, including pleadings, exhibits, and proposed orders.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness lists, and drafting trial briefs.
  • Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks and filings.


Qualifications:

  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on probate and estate litigation.
  • In-depth knowledge of California probate laws and procedures.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and case management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality.
