Summary:

Responsible for performing and /or coordinating the performance of mechanical, electrical, general plant and equipment maintenance. Provide support and direction to journeyman trades, subcontractors, subordinate maintenance personnel and temporary employees assigned to maintenance tasks. Support production operations by installing, repairing and maintaining equipment and structures as needed to meet delivery schedules. Install new equipment and ensure its proper operation before releasing it to others for use.


Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ability to egress buildings per established building evacuation procedures, without assistance.
  • Work with tools and/or machines of varying types for use in the manufacture of company products.
  • Install, repair, replace or maintain machinery, power systems, equipment, hardware, tooling, building and grounds.
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot and maintain air systems, generators, diesel pumps, other general building maintenance issues.
  • Set up new equipment, ensure its satisfactory operation, and train others to use and maintain the new equipment properly.
  • Stays informed concerning new maintenance technology and equipment and investigate their potential applications. Recommend incorporation of new technology for company applications where feasible and practical.
  • Knowledge concerning mechanical principles, maintenance practices, the properties of materials, and the application of crafts and trades to ensure reliable and efficient plant operations.
  • Capable of efficiently integrating existing methods with new innovations to economically solve operating problems in a timely manner.
  • Understand and be capable of operating waste water system.
  • Employee will work in a plant where hazardous propellants are manufactured and assembled.
  • Employee must work safely and protect other employees through following proper procedures and be attentive in all training sessions. Unsafe conditions should be noted and reported to a supervisor or manager.
  • Teamwork and cooperation with fellow employees is expected at all levels of the company. Full participation in continuous improvement activity is essential to the success of the organization and its employees.
  • Participate in the solution of problems in the employee’s area of work. Be willing to make suggestions and to take responsibility for proper implementation of approved changes.
  • Perform necessary tasks and work hours needed to accomplish departmental and company goals.


Skills and Education:

  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variable.
  • Has mechanical aptitude and potential to learn but little or no Building and Facilities Maintenance experience or training.
  • Must maintain some knowledge of fire system, generators, compressors, and facilities.
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experienced at least 1 year or relevant experience in Building and Facilities Maintenance
