We are seeking a skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer with a strong background in production support, problem management, and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting applications in production, troubleshooting issues, and reducing manual operational tasks (toil) through automation. This role focuses on third-party vendor applications, so no coding is required, but the ability to analyze and troubleshoot application behavior is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production support for third-party vendor applications, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted service.
  • Troubleshoot application issues in cloud environments, identifying root causes and implementing solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Manage and resolve production incidents by applying strong problem management skills.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of production issues.
  • Build automation solutions to streamline operational processes and reduce manual interventions (toil).
  • Analyze and improve the efficiency of production support processes in cloud-based infrastructures.
  • Assist in the implementation and execution of best practices for monitoring and troubleshooting applications in production environments.
  • Utilize scripting (if applicable) to automate repetitive tasks and increase operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in production support, with a deep understanding of operational needs and challenges in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
  • Strong problem management skills, capable of quickly identifying and resolving issues in production environments.
  • Familiarity with supporting third-party vendor applications, with no direct access to modify code.
  • Experience troubleshooting applications and resolving production incidents, particularly in cloud-based applications.
  • Understanding of cloud automation tools and techniques; experience building automation solutions is a plus.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (nice to have) to enhance production efficiency.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to reduce toil and improve production support processes.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated services.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting tools in cloud environments.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation in the cloud.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment with tight deadlines.

Additional Details
 The base range for this contract position is $69 - $79/per hour, depending on experience.
Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
