We are looking for Mechanical Design Engineers to drive the industrialized design of our electrolyzer cells and stacks.


Job Summary:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer on you will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of mechanical components and systems for our electrolyzers. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to ensure the mechanical integrity, efficiency, and scalability of our products. Your role will involve a combination of conceptual design, detailed engineering, prototyping, and testing.


Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

- Create and develop detailed Multiphysics based requirements for mechanical components.

- Perform engineering calculations and simulations to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements.

- Bring parts through a full product development process; Concept to Production and Sustaining

- Define and release technical specifications (dimensional, functional, performance, manufacturing)

- Define and Manage PDM and PLM systems

- Collaborate with electrical and chemical engineers to integrate mechanical components with overall system designs.

- Research and benchmark competitive solutions; complete DFMEA and fault tree analysis

- Work directly in sourcing and engaging suppliers

- Create design standards and tools

- Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and performance.

- Conduct Reliability and Performance testing

- Analyze test data and iterate on designs to achieve optimal performance and reliability.


Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in the electrochemical or renewable energy industry.

- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).

- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials science.

- Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems.

- Knowledge of several high volume manufacturing processes

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

- Familiarity with properties and applications of common engineering metals and polymers

- Experience with experiment design and setup, data acquisition, analysis

- Proficiency in GD&T


Preferred Skills:

- Experience with electrochemical systems and electrolyzers.

- Proficiency with FEA and CFD simulation tools.

- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to mechanical design and safety.

- Project management experience and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
