Job Summary

The Senior Surgical Technologist functions in a specialty service, utilizes, and troubleshoots service implementation and equipment, and serves as a resource to the Surgical Technicians.


Pay: $48.32 - $60.17/hr

Department Description

The Moffitt Long Operating Room (OR) consists of 28 surgical suites, focusing on tertiary/quaternary surgical care with team-based staffing. The department utilizes advanced technology, including hybrid suites and robotic surgery. Services include, but are not limited to:

  • General Surgery
  • Urology
  • Transplant
  • Cardiac
  • Vascular
  • Thoracic
  • OHNS (Otorhinolaryngology)
  • OMFS (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery)
  • Plastics
  • Ophthalmology
  • Orthopedics
  • Neurosurgery


Required Qualifications

  • One year experience as a Surgical Technologist
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
  • Demonstrated competency in more than one surgical specialty
  • Graduate of Surgical Technologist Training program or equivalent experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with neurosurgery cases, including Neurovascular (Open and Intraop angiography), Functional, Peripheral nerve, Spine, and Neurooncological specialties
  • Certification as a Surgical Technician


License/Certification

  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
