Position Overview:

The Manager I - Business Finance will serve as a Finance IT Business Partner, responsible for aligning finance and ERP technology projects with business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of global business functions, financial systems, and the ability to lead during periods of change. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the pharmaceuticals or life sciences industry and in-depth knowledge of SAP, FICO, SAC, and Hyperion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and prioritize finance-related technology projects.
  • Ensure that finance and ERP projects align with the company’s business objectives and maximize return on investment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across departments to support integrated process solutions.
  • Lead and influence diverse teams, adapting leadership style based on the situation.
  • Oversee finance applications development and support, particularly in a global context.
  • Act as the liaison between finance, technology, and vendor management groups to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Facilitate innovation in both business processes and technical solutions.
  • Navigate large IT departments, leveraging multiple technologies and disciplines to achieve objectives.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience developing and supporting finance applications.
  • 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceuticals or life sciences industry.
  • 10+ years of experience with SAP, FICO, SAC, and Hyperion.
  • Deep understanding of global company functions and how various departments integrate processes.
  • Proven experience using a range of leadership and influencing styles effectively based on situational needs.

  • Finance Expertise: In-depth understanding of financial processes at both local manufacturing and global corporate levels.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of SAP, FICO, SAC, and Hyperion systems.
  • Leadership & Influence: Ability to lead teams during periods of change, using adaptive leadership styles to drive results.
  • Project Management: Experience in project management principles, with the ability to manage competing priorities and navigate large IT environments.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.
  • Collaboration & Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across departments and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles, follow through on commitments, and achieve key outcomes.
  • Autonomy & Initiative: Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading matrix teams and collaborating with multiple management levels.
  • Experience in the biopharmaceutical or medical device manufacturing industries.
  • Advanced degree in business or technology, such as an MBA.
  • CPA certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Administration.
