Job Summary:


We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to oversee the completion of complex projects, manage multiple priorities, and ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and perform advanced engineering calculations and tasks. This role requires a strong foundation in engineering standards and processes, along with the ability to evaluate and implement new technologies.


Key Responsibilities:


Project Management:


Responsible for the timely completion of complex projects.

Manage overall project schedules and budgets.

Handle multiple priorities effectively.

Collaboration:


Work with internal engineering and business support teams.

Engage with external suppliers and possibly industry organizations.

Maintain effective communication with suppliers, customers, and external resources on technical issues.


Mentorship:


Provide guidance and mentorship to entry-level engineers on common projects.

Enforce proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards.

Technical Expertise:


Perform and verify complex engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks in line with industry standards.

Prepare and deliver detailed plans, designs, computation methods, and reports.

Research, develop, and update standard engineering methodologies and procedures.

Propose and evaluate new technologies for product development and improvement.

Evaluation and Analysis:


Assess designs for performance, safety, and reliability.

Conduct rigorous engineering analysis for part, component, and material selection.

Create and maintain project documentation for analysis, research, and historical records.

Documentation and Proposals:


Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.

Ensure technical issues are resolved within company policies and procedures.

Other Duties:


Perform other duties as assigned.

Regular attendance is required.

Minimum Qualifications:


Accredited bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.

Eight (8) or more years of related experience.

Standout Qualifications:


Accredited master's degree in mechanical engineering.

Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems.

Experience with high-level CAD systems.
