Formulation Chemist- Skin Care and Hair Care


PERMANENT POSITION


About the position:

  • The successful candidate will have a profound understanding of chemistry, particularly in skincare ingredient development for personal care products.
  • As a Formulation Chemist, you will play a pivotal role in creating novel skincare ingredients and ensuring their effectiveness through meticulous formulation and testing.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and evaluate innovative skincare ingredients with a focus on metric-based performance in formulation.
  • Conduct stability and compatibility tests on new formulations, making necessary adjustments to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Regulatory, and Supply Chain, to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements related to green chemistry and skincare.
  • Document all phases of research and development, including formulation procedures, test results, and final product specifications.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to the production team during scale-up and manufacturing processes.
  • Perform analysis of client mixtures to identify ideal additives for achieving client target goals.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cosmetic or skincare product formulation, demonstrating a proven track record of bringing products from concept to market.
  • Experience with developing haircare and skincare formulations.
  • Experience with sun care and color cosmetics is beneficial.
  • Experience with claims substantiation is desirable.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in small to mid-sized companies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and certifications in the cosmetics industry is advantageous.
