Job Title: Enterprise Applications Engineer

Location: New Jersey Office


Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Applications Engineer to work closely with the Enterprise Applications Manager and various departments, including IT, Accounting, Marketing, and Records. The role focuses on ensuring the optimal functionality and uptime of enterprise applications, with an emphasis on Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Servers, and Microsoft online services. Some programming knowledge is preferred but not mandatory.


Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Integrate, update, administer, and support the firm’s enterprise applications across multiple departments (Finance, Marketing, Practice Management).
  • Manage implementations, upgrades, and maintenance of key applications such as Elite 3E, Intapp, Concur, Iridium, and others.
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL databases, SSRS/SSIS, Active Directory, Azure AD, and Windows Servers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on system changes, upgrades, and risk mitigation.
  • Conduct monthly system maintenance tasks, including security patching and SQL optimization.
  • Perform testing for system updates and maintain system documentation, disaster recovery processes, and how-to guides.
  • Troubleshoot escalated tickets from the helpdesk and resolve end-user application issues.
  • Manage vendor support tickets and monitor system performance and capacity.
  • Research and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance the application stack.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Expertise in SQL administration, queries, and SSRS reporting.
  • Proven ability to learn and manage the firm’s application integrations and processes.
  • Experience with accounting, billing, and management software in professional services, especially in the legal industry.
  • Familiarity with Elite 3E database schema or the ability to learn based on prior experience with similar systems.
  • Experience with Elite 3E tools (Design Gallery, Workspace, BizTalk) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in XML/XSLT transformation and scripting languages like PowerShell, C#, and Visual Basic .Net.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.


Non-essential Functions:

  • Provide backup support within the IT department as needed.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, when required.
  • Be available during firm administrative leave or closings for essential duties.
  • Support and adhere to the firm’s IT policies and procedures.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing and implementing large enterprise applications.
  • Strong foundation in computer science and business management.
  • 4-year college degree preferred (equivalent experience considered).
  • Microsoft and other vendor certifications are desirable but not mandatory.


This position is essential to the operations of the firm, requiring flexibility in work hours and availability during critical periods.
