Domain Architect (Azure)

Optomi, in partnership with a leading supermarket chain, is seeking a Domain Architect for their Grand Rapids, Michigan location. Candidates must have experience building and designing data and analytics on enterprise solutions in an Azure environment. This Domain Architect will have a background using Azure technologies and building data pipelines. The candidate will also enjoy working for a Top 50 Most Engaged Workplaces in North America.

Experience of the right candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in one or more Azure technologies such as Data Factory, Log Analytics, Databricks, Synapse, Power BI, Azyre Analysis Services, ADLS Gen2, Polybase, and Machine Learning/AI.
  • Experience automating Azure Workloads, Data Quality, Governance/Standards, Security and Legal Compliance in Azure architecture.
  • 8+ years experience in business application design, development, implementation, and/or solution architecture.
  • Any SAFe certification and ITIL Foundations certification.
  • Structured design, development and implementation of new and established computing architectures experience.
  • Experience leading a technical team.


Responsibilities of the right candidate:

  • Evaluates architectural options and defines overall architecture of the system.
  • Defines non-functional requirements including performance monitoring, alerting and code management, ensuring alignment with technology best practices and SLAs.
  • Determines major elements and subsystems and defines interfaces as well as architectural runway.
  • Guides architects and teams to align with enterprise strategy and vision through technical and business leadership.
  • Leads and prioritizes the architectural runway for the solution trains.
  • Interfaces with the Product Owner and IT partners at the Program level to define and estimate features for agile teams.
  • Create conceptual and logical domain strategic roadmap.
  • Define standards definitions and reference models for the specific domain.
