Junior Sales Associate

 

Summary: This is an entry level sales position with room for upward mobility. This position will report to the Sales Manager that is responsible for promoting and selling of corporate products to generate revenue and boost company profits. The ability to develop relationships with clients and the establishment of an ongoing rapport with existing customers is a critical need for the successful execution of the position. A successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and an overall hunger to learn.


Reports To: Sales Manager and Company Executives


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential activities:

  • Development of strong customer relationships while providing support by analyzing and verifying the accuracy of order information.
  • Receive, process (data entry) and verify the accuracy of orders from customers in office and remote environments.
  • Day travel, under the supervision of the Sales Manager, calling on existing and prospective customers.
  •  The ability to coordinate and deliver presentations of products with an emphasis on their features and how those features meet and benefit the customer’s operational needs.
  • The creation of Price Quote responses to current and potential clients
  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly call lists.
  • Analyze and monitor sales trends and performance.
  • The development and implementation of action plans to meet and maintain sales goals.
  • Troubleshooting and handling of customer complaints and service issues
  • Ensure and provide quality service to both internal and external customers.


Requirements 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field – Required
  • High School diploma or equivalent - Required
  • A valid State Driver’s license and safe driving record and the ability to maintain - Required


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Professional in appearance and presentation
  • Strong innovative and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience in Food Service Industry a plus
  • Self-motivated, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm
  • Computer proficiency with MS Word and Excel
  • Strong Analytical and Decision-making skills
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team


Working Conditions:

  • Office environment combined with travel in designated areas
  • Ability to attend and conduct product presentations
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
  • Demonstrated ability to lift to fifty pounds
  • Overtime as required
