Position Summary:

Provident is seeking an experienced Senior Development Analyst to join our Industrial Group’s team of real estate professionals in Houston. This individual will play a vital role in Provident’s development projects throughout Central Texas. The ideal candidate will be a captain of industry, with a strong desire to help drive projects across the finish line and be a large contributor to the company’s overall success.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform financial analysis of acquisitions and development opportunities via financial modeling, analysis of cash flows, and application of valuation methods using a combination of Argus and Excel software.
  • Perform underwriting of real estate acquisition and development opportunities.
  • Assist with the due diligence process associated with acquisitions by performing document control, reading lease abstracts, verifying projections, or other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in the asset management of existing properties including market research, leasing, property sales, and administration of investor requirements.
  • Prepare presentation materials and proposals with responsibility for written and graphic requirements.
  • Analyze real estate and industry trends from a strategic point of view; Analyze and interpret various types of data to draw conclusions and solve problems.
  • Participate in the management of development projects including feasibility analysis, entitlement processes, financing, design, contracting, and construction management.
  • Reviewing soft cost invoices, sources and uses, and development budget for projects in construction to mitigate cost overruns.
  • Reviewing LOIs, term sheets, and all legal documentation related to investments.
  • Other duties, as assigned.


Required Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience on the owner-side in real estate, or in a finance/underwriting role, working on industrial, multi-family, office, or retail development.
  • High aptitude for underwriting and financial analysis, especially modeling, and capable of handling complex valuation techniques.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain professional and cooperative working relationships with team members, government agencies, consultants, lenders, investors, and other parties involved in the projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify and resolve issues.
  • Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes.
  • Organized, extremely detail-oriented, and thorough.
  • Resourceful, out-of-the-box thinker who is eager to contribute to project success.
  • Successfully manage a variety of tasks within a defined timeframe, with an ability to adapt to changes in priorities and strategy.
  • Demonstrate strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Argus competency, preferred.
