We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Psychologist (LP) to join our Neuropsychology team. This role specializes in the psychological evaluation and treatment of patients recovering from strokes, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and other brain-related conditions. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, providing counseling, assessment, and support to patients navigating the cognitive and emotional challenges associated with neurological disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
● Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, and other neurological conditions.
● Provide psychotherapy, cognitive rehabilitation, and emotional support to individuals dealing with the psychological effects of stroke and TBI.
● Collaborate with neuropsychologists to interpret test results and contribute to treatment planning for stroke and brain injury patients.
● Offer individualized counseling, including adjustment to cognitive impairment, memory issues, and emotional difficulties related to neurological conditions.
● Provide support to patients and their families, helping them understand and cope with the psychological and emotional aspects of brain injuries and stroke recovery.
● Document assessment findings, treatment progress, and patient outcomes in a clear, concise manner for clinical review.
● Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment goals.
● Stay informed about the latest research, therapeutic techniques, and best practices in stroke rehabilitation, TBI recovery, and neuropsychological care.
Qualifications:
● Master's degree (LPC) or Doctoral degree (LP) in psychology, counseling, or a related field.
● Current, active state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Psychologist (LP) in Florida.
● Previous experience working with patients who have had strokes, traumatic brain injuries, or other neurological conditions is highly preferred.
● Previous experience in a related field (e.g., neuropsychology, rehabilitation counseling) is a plus.
● Strong knowledge of psychological assessment techniques, particularly in the context of brain injury and stroke rehabilitation.
● Ability to work effectively with patients experiencing cognitive impairments, memory difficulties, and emotional challenges.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
● Experience in providing individual and group therapy, with a focus on cognitive and emotional rehabilitation.
● Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation.
