Job Title: Wastewater Treatment Operator
Rate: $27/hr-$30/hr
Location: Southport, NC 28641 – Onsite role

Job Description:
Are you passionate about ensuring the smooth operation of water treatment facilities? Join our team as a Lead Operator and play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and safety of our water systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Routine Testing & Documentation: Conduct routine water testing, record results, and maintain the plant log book with accurate and timely entries.
- Monitoring & Calibration: Keep an eye on all charts, gauges, SCADA, and other operating equipment. Ensure plant instrumentation and online analyzers are calibrated as per the specified frequency.
- Data Evaluation: Analyze data and information to ensure proper facility operation. Notify the Chief Plant Operator of any abnormal conditions.
- Process Adjustments: Make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Inspections: Conduct inspections of pump stations and the collection system.
- Regulatory Compliance: File required regulatory documents as per assigned operating permits.
- Property Maintenance: Maintain the property in good order, including housekeeping and grounds upkeep.
- Health & Safety: Follow proper health and safety standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all equipment is in proper and safe working order. Conduct corrective and preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Process Improvement: Analyze and evaluate processes and procedures. Recommend and initiate new or improved practices and update SOPs.
- Reporting: Prepare reports and documents related to work activities. Ensure work is completed according to standard utility practices and procedures.
- Inventory Management: Maintain records on work activities, inventories, and order chemicals, materials, and supplies. Prepare reports on operational and repair activities.
- Regulatory Interface: Interface with state regulatory agencies and client contacts.
- Customer Service: Investigate, recommend, and initiate appropriate actions in response to internal and external customer complaints or inquiries. Develop solutions to eliminate recurring problems.
- Availability: This is a full-time position. Must be available for on-call, weekend work, and call-ins.
- Technology Use: Utilize computers and software as assigned.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor Exposure: While performing the duties of this job, you will be exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Noise Levels: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with occasional exposure to higher noise levels (within OSHA standards).
