Position Overview - Millwork | Junior Estimator

Location: Westchester County (travel required to Manhattan based on Projects)

The Junior Estimator will assist in preparing accurate and competitive project cost estimates for millwork projects. Working under the guidance of senior estimators and project managers, this role involves exposure to various aspects of estimating, budgeting, and project planning. The Junior Estimator will gain experience in reviewing project documents, preparing bids, and supporting the project team from pre-construction to completion.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Junior Estimator include:

• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and scope related to millwork.
• Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, and equipment.
• Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
• Support in preparing bid proposals, budgets, and schedules.
• Collaborate with the estimating team to ensure all estimates are complete and well-documented.
• Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including scope clarifications, RFIs, and addenda.
• Assist in tracking project costs and variations throughout the estimation phase.
• Participate in pre-bid and project meetings as required.
• Develop knowledge of industry standards and best practices in millwork estimating.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Relevant technical training or coursework in estimating and construction is a plus.

Work Experience

• 1+ years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.
• Exposure to millwork or woodworking projects is highly desirable.
