Pride Health is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist to support our client’s medical facility in Massachusetts and other locations. This is a 13-week assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization
Job Summary:
A Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in the operating room, assisting surgeons and other healthcare professionals before, during, and after surgical procedures. They are responsible for preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments, setting up the operating room, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. During surgery, they pass instruments to the surgical team, assist with patient positioning, and help maintain a sterile field. Surgical Technologists also monitor the patient’s vital signs, ensure proper sterilization protocols are followed, and handle specimen collection. Strong attention to detail, technical skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are essential in this role. They must also follow strict safety procedures and collaborate effectively with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment before procedures.
- Assist surgeons and surgical teams by passing instruments and supplies during surgery.
- Maintain a sterile field and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Set up and arrange the operating room according to the type of surgery.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs during surgical procedures.
- Ensure proper handling and labeling of surgical specimens.
- Sterilize, clean, and store surgical tools and equipment after procedures.
- Assist with patient positioning and draping during surgery.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure efficient and smooth operations.
- Respond to emergency situations in the operating room as needed.
Qualifications:
- BLS certification required.
- Active Surgical Technologist certification required
- Active MA license
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and stress management skills.
Additional Information:
- Location: Massachusetts and other locations
- Job Type: 13 Weeks Contract
- Shifts: 12 HOURS A DAY
- Weekly Pay: $53-$57 (Travel pay)
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
