Requirements:


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferably with a specialization or focus on power systems or industrial automation).
  • Professional certifications such as PE (Professional Engineer) in Electrical Engineering are highly valued.
  • Additional courses in mining or cement industry standards and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NFPA, MSHA).


Experience:

  • Years of Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the industry, preferably in mining, cement, or aggregates projects.
  • Project Experience: Proven experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems in industrial plants, especially within the mining and cement production sectors.
  • Regulations: Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with relevant U.S. and international standards (NEC, IEEE, IEC, etc.).
  • Software Proficiency: Expertise in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM PowerTools) and industrial automation systems (PLC, SCADA).


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in designing and analysing low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution systems.
  • Experience with electric motors, generators, substations, and industrial control and automation systems.
  • Ability to develop and review electrical plans, technical specifications, and engineering documents.
  • Familiarity with short circuit studies, system protection, and coordination of protective devices.


Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage projects from inception to completion, including coordination with various engineering disciplines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make technical decisions under pressure.


Languages:

  • Fluent in English (mandatory).
  • Spanish is desirable, given the industry context and potential interactions with teams in Latin America.


Availability:

  • Willingness to travel and work at remote sites as needed.
  • Flexibility to work on projects of varying sizes and complexities.


Work Conditions:

  • Combination of office-based design work and regular visits to industrial and construction sites.
  • Close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, safety, etc.).
