Job Description

Contractor shall provide a qualified NYS licensed Speech Pathologist to perform part time (approximately 40 hours/month) Speech Pathology (SP) services onsite for the Rochester Psychiatric Center (RPC) clients. The SP must have previous experience specializing in treating patients with swallowing disorders. Hours are subject to fluctuation and will be determined based on facility need. Scheduling will be flexible, the Contractor will need to ensure they are available to observe all mealtimes as some patients have abilities which fluctuate throughout the day. Scheduling of clients to be treated will be arranged by the Facility Medical Clinic. Requests for services should be authorized by the treating physician. The Facility will provide Contractor with pertinent medical information regarding the patients that are being referred to the Contractor including, but not limited to, a brief medical history. The Contractor, in coordination with the Facility Medical Clinic, will be responsible for providing medical treatment following all prescribed dictates of profession and licensure codes. Specific duties include the following:

- Speech/voice/language (expressive and comprehension)/auditory processing/cognition and swallowing (dysphagia) screenings and protocol development.

- Clinical diagnostic evaluations.

- Swallowing treatment and behavior plan for individuals.

- Swallowing intervention/training for groups.

- Staff training; and

- General consultation.
