Main purpose of the Sr. Associate Product Developer (Knits) role:


This is a full-time role for a candidate who will closely collaborate with Design to ensure the completion of garments is executed from concept through production with the highest quality and within cost parameters with overseas vendors. This position will utilize his or her problem-solving, multi-tasking and communication skills to help oversee the day-to-day development which includes ensuring brands are on calendar. This is a permanent full-time role for a candidate who truly understands the knitwear market consumer and a highly organized candidate who can thrive in a fast-paced work environment.


Major Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


● Communicate daily with manufacturers to ensure product specifications, quality standards and deadlines are met specific to the Knitwear category

● Manage and own WIPs and costing processes for a specific brand and/or category from concept through production

● Be the main point of contact and communicator between all cross-functional departments: Buying, R&D, Design, Tech, Compliance, QC and Purchasing

● Attend fittings to ensure product is on calendar and within cost parameters, problem solving when needed

● Responsible for maintaining lab-dip binders, buy meeting preparations, bulk material approvals, vendor invoice submits, proto sample processing, managing influencer sample requests, and other misc. pd/prod tasks

● Partner with PD Manager to allocate product against oversea manufacturers for the best possible execution which includes maintaining proper vendor capacities

● Manage cost negotiations, FOB approvals and retail parameters, with manager's approval

● Act as liaison between R&D and Design to ensure fabric MOQs/cost are within targets and no liability is accrued

● Manage and own WIPs and costing processes for a specific brand and/or category from concept through production

● Independently own calendar deadlines across all Knitwear

● Collaborate with the 3D fitting and pattern-making process

● Own product flow concept – TOP for multiple seasons at a time

● Independently communicate with vendors, troubleshoot issues with vendors, and travel overseas to vendor visits

● Cultivate, interview and train junior members which includes refining their development process

● Support the Sr. Product Developer in evolving PD processes and leading workshops/training initiatives

● Complete ad-hoc tasks and assignments as directed by management


Required Competencies:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

● Product Life cycle - Comprehend all stages of the product development processes and production processes

● Must have the ability to handle large amount of SKUs

● Possess strong knowledge in garment construction and specifications in multiple categories including knitwear

● Strong knowledge of calendar management, focused, and deadline driven

● Highly organized, with strong attention to detail, and leadership skills

● Excellent communication, strong written and verbal skills,

● Problem Solver and analytical with decision-making skills

● Proactive, self-motivated, and strong knowledge of how to delegate

● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and short lead calendar (5 months)

● Must be willing and able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs., perform frequent repetitive finger, hand and wrist motions, as well as bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling

● Must be able to sit for extended periods of time


Minimum Qualifications:

● 4-5+ years' experience in similar role

● Experience with knitwear

● In-depth overseas experience and vendor management experience

● Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and knowledge of CAD a plus but not required

● Excellent computer skills including Excel and Google applications


Preferred Qualifications:

● Degree in Fashion, Product Development or similar field

● Knitwear experience Preferred but not Required

● Experience with costing and overseas vendor communication preferred

● Experience at luxury or contemporary brand

● PLM experience a plus

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Revolve includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications.


A reasonable estimate of the current base hourly/salary range is $65K to $75K.
