The Disbursement Analyst is responsible for executing company disbursements in alignment with department payment strategy, and in compliance with controls.
Key Duties
• Performs daily, weekly, and ad-hoc disbursements via check, wire, and ACH.
• Researches, verifies, and initiates stop/void payments.
• Generates and analyzes aging for possible follow-up required.
• Interfaces with vendors and internal customers to research and resolve disbursement inquiries.
• In coordination with Accounts Payable leadership, develops and maintains disbursement controls and procedures.
• Virtual credit card program reconciliation and review
• Review and prepare unclaimed property for escheatment preparation.
• Assist in training internal customers on disbursement processes.
• Ensures adherence to internal control requirements and SOX narratives, including maintenance of
documentation for disbursement processes.
• Clear and concise communication across all levels of the organization.
• Providing the highest level of customer service.
• Creates reports and analyzes data for relevant metrics and performance.
• Creates journal entries and reconciliations for month end financial close.
Job-Specific Skills, Experience & Education
Required
• 4 years of accounting experience.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization.
• Demonstrates and maintains advanced knowledge of company policies and controls.
• Ability to suggest and document on-going changes to automate and enhance department procedures.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
• Disbursement, unclaimed property/escheatment experience
• Bachelor's degree, with a focus in accounting or related area
• Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
• Airline experience.
• PeopleSoft experience.
