WSN is looking for a skilled and experienced Scrum Master to join our dynamic team overseeing the development and enhancement of a large, cloud-based data warehouse.
As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for facilitating Agile practices across multiple Scrum teams, ensuring efficient execution of Sprint cycles, and driving continuous improvement. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, balancing project timelines with team velocity and handling any blockers or conflicts that arise.
The ideal candidate has a solid financial background, technical expertise in data processing, and proficiency with Agile methodologies.
Major Responsibilities:
- Scrum Facilitation: Lead Scrum ceremonies such as Sprint planning, daily standups, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and sprint reviews to ensure team alignment and focus on project goals.
- Team Coordination & Backlog Management: Work closely with the Product Owner and team to manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring smooth flow of work and clear definition of requirements.
- RAID Log Management: Maintain and manage the RAID log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies) for teams under management, ensuring issues are flagged, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Progress Tracking & Reporting: Monitor team performance, manage burn-down charts, and provide regular status updates to the project team and stakeholders to keep everyone aligned on progress.
- Balancing PMO Milestones with Scrum Activities: Collaborate with the PMO and business stakeholders to ensure that Scrum activities align with overall project milestones. Help assess team velocity and adjust sprint planning to meet delivery timelines while addressing blockers and resolving conflicts.
- Environmental Management: Proactively manage team environments by addressing any impediments that may affect progress. Support team cohesion and collaboration by ensuring a positive working atmosphere.
- Coaching & Mentoring: Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to Scrum team members in Agile best practices. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and foster strong collaboration across teams.
- Shielding the Team: Act as a buffer between the team and outside distractions, ensuring the team remains focused on delivering high-quality work with minimal external interruptions.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience: 7 to 12 years of professional experience, with at least 3+ years in a Scrum Master role managing Scrum teams in an Agile environment.
- Financial Domain Expertise: A background in financial services is required. Preferably, knowledge in Derivatives, Cash, Finance, and Banking products.
- Technical Expertise: Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, specifically Snowflake, as well as strong technical knowledge of Python, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouse environments.
- Agile Expertise: Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), and hands-on experience in applying these practices within software development teams.
- Tools Proficiency: Strong experience using Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.) to manage agile projects, track issues, and document team progress.
- Development Lifecycle Knowledge: Familiar with common development practices and the SDLC, including testing, deployment, and release management processes.
- Multitasking & Decision Making: Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and issues, balancing team needs with project deadlines. Quick decision-making skills are essential to resolve blockers effectively.
