Operations Manager

Job Summary

Directs operations of the plant in accordance with established company goals and objectives.


Job Responsibilities

  • leadership, planning, and assist in directing operational activities, personnel, and projects.
  • for planning and directing the layout of equipment, workflow, processing methods, and work force utilization.
  • develop, and implement strategies to meet operational and plant goals within agreed upon budgets and timeframes.
  • programs and strategies to optimize operations and increase production.
  • supervisory staff.
  • a data driven culture to make logical and timely decisions.
  • with Continuous Improvement team to carry out lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • with sales department and product development department to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • suppliers and vendors to obtain information regarding manufacturing activities and projects.
  • plant operating and capital budgets based on current and future market demand.
  • company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
  • compliance with federal and state safety and environmental regulations.
  • a safe working environment for all employees and ensure that employees follow established safety rules to ensure the goal of zero injuries.
  • all other duties as assigned.



Education and/or Experience

  • degree (B.S.) in technical or related field
  • minimum of seven years in industry-based management of manufacturing operations.
  • manufacturing experience (such as Six Sigma or Kaizen) is preferred.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • be a self-starter with good time management and communication skills; be able to organize people and tasks; possess strong leadership skills; and proven track record of identifying and developing talent.
  • to read, analyze and interpret general financial reports, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • possess excellent interpersonal along with strong verbal and written communication skills.


Physical Demands

  • performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, talk and hear.
  • amount of squatting, bending, and stooping is also required.
  • occasion, the employee will be required to walk and stand. T
  • employee is frequently required to sit.
  • to the administrative and managerial duties, this position requires a substantial amount of sitting and attending meetings.
  • employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
