Job Summary:

This is a part-time, contracted position (1099) without benefits. The position requires a seasoned professional with the confidence to develop collaborative relationships with the onsite team to uncover safety issues and determine corrective priorities, with the goal of significantly reducing or eliminating employee injuries and pain. will provide one-on-one and team training, workstation assessment, body mechanics training and coaching, self-care technique training, recommendations for improvement of processes, and equipment adjustments, replacements, or purchases to improve safety. The Specialist will provide weekly and monthly reports to onsite management and to DORN regarding all training, coaching, and recommendations undertaken by the specialist during that timeframe, as well as improvement in biomechanical training scores.


Compensation:

$40-55/hour based upon licensure, education, training, and experience.


Requirements:

  • Valid license or certification in your state as an Athletic Trainer (AT)
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and/or industrial ergonomics
  • Education and experience in movement or exercise science, kinesiology, sports training/coaching.
  • Willingness to learn and utilize DORN's proprietary deep tissue therapy techniques.
  • Strong observation and report writing skills (with templates).
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with onsite management team, client employees and DORN staff.
  • Proficient technical skills to include basic computer skills, phone apps, email, documenting in Word, attaching and emailing documents, utilizing links in emails, etc.)
  • Active Liability Insurance
  • Degree or Certification in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, etc. (preferred)

***DORN requires background checks and drug screening of all providers after acceptance of a contract offer.


Responsibilities (dependent on services offered at assigned site):

  • The Industrial Injury Prevention Specialist role will include a combination of injury prevention and deep tissue therapy for pain relief based upon client requirements.
  • Workstation analysis and ergonomic assessments.
  • Biomechanical training, coaching, and monitoring for improvement.
  • Group trainings
  • Collaboration and communication with site safety and management personnel.
  • Develop and conduct pre-shift/post-lunch conditioning exercises based upon Instinctive Movement System exercises customized to the need of each department.
  • Utilize deep tissue techniques for wellness-focused (first aid) pain relief.
  • Conduct pre-shift/post-lunch conditioning and mobility sessions.
  • Based upon data, address specific departmental concerns through training and coaching.


Site Information:

  • This opportunity is located in Longview, TX
  • Primary provider needed, with potential need for a Backup Provider additionally.
  • Primary provider will have 10 hours on-site per week(Monday-Thursday morning/afternoon preferred). More hours available depending on site needs and availability.
  • Backup providers have one shift monthly, and any additional hours that the Primary needs coverage for(vacations, illness, etc.)
