Montana Silversmiths is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to manage multi-state sales tax compliance, support month-end close activities, and assist with financial reporting. This role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel knowledge, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multi-state sales tax filings, registrations, audits, and compliance.
- Reconcile ERP transactions with sales tax software and prepare related journal entries.
- Support month-end close and general ledger reconciliations.
- Assist with annual IRS 1099 reporting.
- Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding sales tax matters.
- Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years of accounting experience, including sales tax compliance preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros, large datasets).
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Dynamics AX, Power BI, SureTax, Magento, or similar systems is a plus.
