e&e is seeking a SAP Finance, Funds Management, and Project Systems SME for a hybrid contract opportunity in Harrisburg, PAThe SAP Finance, Funds Management, and Project Systems SME will provide expert-level support for existing SAP ECC 6.0 environments while contributing to the implementation of a new S/4HANA-based financial enterprise solution. This role acts as a trusted advisor to IT, finance, and project teams—leading configuration, testing, data activities, process design, troubleshooting, and integration efforts across FI/CO, FM, and PS modules. The SME will partner closely with a system integrator and internal stakeholders to map current-state processes to future-state designs, ensure solution quality, and support organizational readiness throughout the transition to S/4HANA.Responsibilities:Functional Leadership & Subject Matter ExpertiseServe as the SME for Finance, Funds Management, and Project Systems for both current ECC environments and future S/4HANA systems.Collaborate with business finance teams, IT, and system integrators to define, design, configure, and enhance SAP financial and project processes.Support end-to-end integration with other SAP modules and external systems.Process Analysis, Design & DocumentationRapidly learn and document current-state (“As-Is”) processes and assist in mapping to future-state (“To-Be”) processes within S/4HANA.Develop and maintain detailed functional designs, technical designs, test scripts, process documentation, and user job aids.Support new or enhanced reporting capabilities and financial analytics.System Configuration, Testing & SupportPerform system configuration for FI/CO, FM, and PS in both ECC and S/4HANA environments.Ensure modifications, upgrades, and enhancements are properly tested, validated, and documented.Troubleshoot and resolve issues in ECC and support cutover, go-live, and hypercare activities for S/4HANA.Data Management & MigrationSupport data profiling, cleansing, reconciliation, and validation for master and transactional data.Assist with planning and executing migrations from ECC to S/4HANA, including brownfield transitions and adoption of Fiori interfaces.Training & Change ManagementIdentify training needs and support delivery of training for new processes, functionality, and S/4HANA capabilities.Promote best practices for system, process change management, and documentation discipline.Collaboration & Reporting SupportWork with IT, SI partners, and business teams to support financial reporting, project systems reporting, and related analytical needs.Participate in cross-functional meetings, planning workshops, program increments (PI), SIT/UAT cycles, and solution confirmation activities.Requirements:Minimum Requirements10+ years of hands-on experience configuring and supporting SAP ECC 6.0 and S/4HANA for Finance, Funds Management, and Project Systems.At least 2 full lifecycle S/4HANA implementation projects, including configuration of FI/CO, FM, PS, Banking, and Treasury components.Deep expertise in SAP Finance and Controlling with strong understanding of end-to-end financial and operational business processes.Extensive experience with SAP Project Systems in both ECC and S/4HANA environments.Strong experience with month-end and year-end financial close processes.Participation in process discovery, design workshops, and delivery of SAP Finance/FM/PS solutions in S/4HANA.Thorough understanding of end-to-end business, data, and transaction flows across financial systems.Proven ability to create, review, and edit functional and technical design documents, testing materials, and training content.Understanding of public sector financial processes, policies, and regulatory compliance.Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.Desired SkillsExperience supporting real-time and batch integrations between SAP ECC/S4 and external systems, including financial institutions.Background in background job scheduling, payment postings (ACH, checks, digital/real-time payments), and financial transaction processing.Experience integrating SAP with Microsoft Dynamics and other enterprise platforms.Familiarity with ServiceNow and Azure DevOps (ADO) for ticketing, testing, and documentation workflows.Experience developing and executing test scenarios and hands-on ADO testing.Hands-on involvement in brownfield migration strategies, cloud-based S/4HANA transitions, and SAP GUI → Fiori adoption.CertificationsS/4HANA certifications in Finance, Funds Management, and/or Project Systems highly preferred.
