Job Details

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief Ultrasound Technologist to lead our Ultrasound department at St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center, a busy and dynamic hospital setting. The successful candidate will oversee all operational, clinical, and administrative aspects of the ultrasound services, ensuring the highest standards of care and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Proficiency in Vascular and General Body Radiology Ultrasound is required.
• Manage and supervise the ultrasound technology team, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
• Oversee the daily operations of the ultrasound department to ensure efficient and effective diagnostic services.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures that adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other medical professionals and departments to integrate ultrasound services into overall patient care.
• Ensure the maintenance and functionality of ultrasound equipment, and manage the procurement of new technology as needed.
• Monitor and optimize workflow processes to increase efficiency and improve patient satisfaction.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in ultrasound technology and introduce innovative practices and techniques to the team.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards to protect patients and staff.
• Manage departmental budgets, including forecasting, resource allocation, and cost control.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Certified and registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer by a recognized accrediting body (e.g., ARDMS).
• RVT (registered vascular technologist
• BLS required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in ultrasound technology with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team of professionals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, patients, and other healthcare providers.
• Proficiency in using various types of ultrasound equipment and technology.
• Ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range

USD $54.43 - USD $68.00 /Hr.
