Position Overview

We are seeking a driven and mission-aligned Associate to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, and supporting our portfolio of ventures and projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of finance, innovation, and social good. The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging investments to create transformative change while maintaining a strong commitment to the ethical values that guide our work.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Sourcing and Research:
  • Identify and evaluate mission-aligned early-stage investment opportunities in venture capital and real estate development.
  • Build relationships with founders, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders.
  • Conduct market research and analyze trends in emerging industries and technologies with a focus on projects aligned with the firm’s mission.
  1. Due Diligence:
  • Perform financial and impact analysis, business model evaluation, and competitive analysis for potential investments.
  • Develop detailed investment memos that align potential investments with the social and ethical principles of the Catholic Church.
  • Present findings and recommendations to the investment committee.
  1. Portfolio Support:
  • Assist portfolio companies with strategic initiatives, including operational optimization, mission alignment, and fundraising support.
  • Monitor and report on portfolio performance, emphasizing social and financial impact.
  1. Mission-Driven Insights:
  • Maintain databases of deal flow, industry trends, and mission-driven investment opportunities.
  • Generate insights that inform investment strategies and ensure alignment with Fidelis Ventures' core values.
  1. Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with senior team members on all aspects of the investment lifecycle.
  • Represent Fidelis Ventures at industry events, conferences, and community engagement opportunities to further our mission.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Theology, or a related field. Advanced degrees such as an MBA or JD are a plus.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, real estate, investment banking, consulting, or a startup environment.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Deep understanding of ethical investing principles and social responsibility.
  • Proficiency in tools like Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems.
