Low Voltage Designer

As a Low Voltage Designer, you will be responsible for designing and creating plans for a variety of low voltage systems using AutoCAD and Fire CAD. These systems include but are not limited to Structured Cabling, CCTV, Access Control, Audio/Visual, DAS, 2-Way Communication, and Fire Alarm.


Your key duties will include:

  • Design: Utilize AutoCAD and Fire CAD software to develop comprehensive designs for low voltage systems.
  • Submittal Creation: Prepare and submit detailed submittals for the aforementioned systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Plan Check Corrections: Collaborate with the team to address and rectify any plan check corrections efficiently and effectively.


Additional Responsibilities (Construction Management)

While not required, experience or willingness to learn construction management tasks is advantageous. This includes:

  • Meeting Attendance: Participate in conference and coordination meetings, contributing insights and updates as needed.
  • Communication: Respond promptly to all project-related emails and Requests for Information (RFIs), maintaining clear and effective communication channels.
  • Material Management: Generate accurate bill of materials and material requisitions to facilitate timely procurement of required parts.
  • Field Support: Provide support to field staff by troubleshooting problems and addressing inspector corrections promptly.
  • Final Sign-off: Collaborate with the team and inspectors to ensure projects meet quality standards and obtain final sign-off.
  • Change Orders: Prepare and submit change orders as necessary, documenting alterations to project scope or requirements.
  • Warranty Documentation: Issue warranty letters to clients upon project completion, ensuring clarity regarding warranty coverage.


Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in low voltage system design, with proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Fire CAD.
  • Skills: Strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Construction Management (Preferred): Familiarity with construction management processes and willingness to learn additional tasks as required.
