Pride Health is hiring a phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility based in Marysville, WA , this is a 3+ months contract assignment (conversion into permanent based on your work performance).

Pay Range: $20/hr.-$23/hr. (Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials).

Shift Information:

La Conner: 7:00am-5:00pm, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Smokey Point: Sundays 8:00am-5:00pm.

Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining, labeling, and transporting patient specimens accurately and timely. This role ensures proper identification of patient specimens to facilitate the timely reporting of laboratory results. The Phlebotomist performs various support functions, both technical and non-technical, and may include waived laboratory testing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collections accurately and promptly.
  • Always adhere to the Venipuncture Standard of Work (SOW).
  • Ensure accurate identification of patient specimens following Processing SOW.
  • Provide proper patient collection instructions and post-phlebotomy care guidance.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by complying with safety regulations and disposing of bio-hazardous materials properly.
  • Obtain specimens for microbiology testing and order sufficient supplies to prevent stock depletion.
  • Perform waived laboratory testing following Resulting and Processing SOW.
  • Conduct quality control, evaluate test run acceptability, verify results, and participate in proficiency testing.
  • Greet and register patients professionally, following Reception SOW.
  • Locate missing lab orders and specimens efficiently.
  • Demonstrate competent and efficient phone skills.
  • Perform EKGs and miscellaneous services for patients.
  • Clean and disinfect work areas regularly.

Reports To: Phlebotomist Supervisor/Manager

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a Phlebotomy Certificate program from an accredited school.
  • Minimum of two years of blood draw experience.
  • Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-Pbt) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Documented training in CLIA regulations.
