Execute Aftermarket Field Service & Technical Product Support for Guidant measurement equipment, mechanical and electronic products, accessories, & ancillary/peripheral equipment. Provide on-site startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs, training, and other support for field applications at both domestic & international locations.


  • Installs, tests and repairs new and reworked Guidant products (equipment and tools).
  • Handles customer comments, requests and complaints in a TIMELY manner.
  • Provides sales support ensuring the customer is fully informed of all aspects of the job.
  • Completes Field Service Orders (FSO) and Field Spare Parts Tickets (FSPT) and accountable for the timely submission of these and other revenue generating documents.
  • Assures all quality issues and documentation (equipment and procedural defects) is communicated and sent back to Company's Service Management.
  • Completes field documentation after the completion of each service job.
  • Project management as required & handles project issues as they arise.
  • Prepares and completes safety related training, documentation, and procedures.
  • Be on call to provide emergency assistance to customers all hours of the day, year-round including holidays, but excluding personal vacation.
  • Provides technical support via telephone, e-mail to our customers, distributors, and sales offices.
  • Receives and follow-up customer calls and outstanding issues.
  • Engages productively in repairing of Smith Meter products (e.g. meters, valves, presets, electronic instrumentation, etc.), calibration of electronic and mechanical products, rebuilding and refurbishing electrical and mechanical products.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent technical diploma
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in field service technician role
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more of the following fields: electrical; subsea equipment; hydraulics equipment; mechanical equipment and tools; structural steel
  • Ability to read and understand drawings
  • Able to perform moderate complex calculations
  • Ability to use and understand technical tools and instruments and perform basic troubleshooting Knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted internal business processes and procedures
