Our client is seeking an experienced Instrument & Electrical Engineer to join their innovative team. In this role, you will play a vital part in the design, development, and testing of electrical systems and components for their cutting-edge technology. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to test and troubleshoot photocatalysts and reactors, directly contributing to the development of their revolutionary technology and advancing sustainability in the chemical manufacturing industry.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical schematics and drawings, including load lists, load analysis, and one-line diagrams.
  • Create and maintain instrument lists using P&IDs, and define specifications based on application requirements.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotes for instruments and electrical equipment suitable for both hazardous and non-hazardous environments.
  • Review and approve data sheets, third-party electrical designs, and panel/cabinet layout drawings.
  • Troubleshoot and test electrical and instrument assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Assess HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) risks and provide recommendations for safe design and operation.
  • Collaborate with R&D, installation, operations, and third-party personnel to ensure successful project support and execution.
  • Maintain detailed records of conceptual design work and as-built documentation.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10-15 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong background in troubleshooting and testing.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, with the ability to develop, review, and maintain electrical drawings (One-line, elevation, loops, PLC).
  • In-depth understanding of Hazardous Area Classification and relevant electrical codes, including NFPA 70 & 70E.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
  • Solid understanding of industrial instrumentation and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Proven experience in plant process control, safety interlocks, and automation.


Additional Expertise:

  • Broad familiarity with multiple engineering disciplines: Chemical, Mechanical, Software & Electrical.
  • Experience in plant process control, safety interlocks, and automation.
  • Hands-on experience in chemical process design, implementation, and operation.
  • Experience working in an R&D environment and contributing to the design, optimization, and commercialization of new technologies.
  • Knowledge of Delta V programming is a plus.
