Kelly Science and Clinical is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Cosmetic Chemist. This position offers the opportunity to play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and excellence of products through meticulous laboratory analysis and quality control processes.

Overview:

Responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, conducting thorough analyses on finished products and raw materials, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. You will lead a team of laboratory technicians and chemists, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the smooth functioning of the laboratory and the timely completion of tasks. Additionally, you will collaborate with various departments, including Research and Development, to investigate and resolve issues related to product quality and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct laboratory analyses on finished products and raw materials using physical testing and wet chemistry methods.
• Analyze batches, test lab batches, and make recommendations for adjustments to ensure product quality.
• Perform inventory management of laboratory supplies and order supplies as needed.
• Inspect and calibrate laboratory equipment, including scales, autoclaves, thermometers, refractometers, refrigerators, and incubators.
• Interpret experimental data and communicate results to the supervisor, making recommendations as necessary.
• Complete tasks such as reagent and sample preparation, equipment maintenance, and record-keeping in compliance with standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate out-of-specification results and client complaints, working collaboratively with R&D and Innovation teams to find solutions.
• Initiate and complete required quality documents and train laboratory technicians and chemists.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• Knowledge of quality control principles in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with laboratory controls and safety regulations.
• 4+ years of experience working in a manufacturing and/or laboratory environment, preferably in Personal Care/Cosmetics or OTC industries.
