  • Supervise and manage field operators.
  • Tree management includes planting and staking, guarding, and tying, pruning, and training.
  • Pest and Disease identification and monitoring.
  • Assist with the annual olive harvest.
  • Tractor driving, including slashing, fungicide spraying, herbicide, cultivation, and machine pruning.
  • ATV Motorbike/Mule operations, including weed spraying and towing trailers.
  • Undertake the handling and mixing of chemicals/fertilizers used in the grove;
  • General upkeep of vehicles and equipment (tractors, motorbikes etc.), ensuring that vehicles and plant/equipment are kept in a clean and tidy manner;
  • Trellising and fencing;
  • Monitoring irrigation system for leaks and carrying out repairs to drip-tape and pipes;
  • Cleaning and servicing filters and valves in irrigation system;
  • Comply with all safety legislative requirements and all aspects of the Boundary Bend Safety Program;
  • Other duties as required.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2- 3 years’ experience in a field operation’s similar role
  • Exceptional communication skills and management of employees and contractors, to ensure the workplace is safe, enjoyable, and productive.
  • Chemical Users Certificate & Agricultural Chemical Users Permit (ACUP) preferred.
  • Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills
  • Works well independently and with others.
  • Good communication skills
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • Musts be open to a flexible work schedule during harvest season for 12-16 weeks out of the year.
  • Employee must be available to work 12-hour shifts/6 days a week.
  • May be required to be at different job sites at managements discretion.
  • Travel 10%-15% to different locations: Groves/Harter
