  • Understanding of 2D and 3D applications


Qualification Plusses

  • Experience with 3D modeling for power plants
  • Experience with E3D or Plant 3D or Smartplant 3D or CADWORX Plant Pro or AutoCAD or MicroStation or Navisworks or Bluebeam or Excel

Day-to-Day:

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Designer for our engineering services client's office in Leawood, KS. Our client is a global organization with over 1500 employees, headquartered in Sedalia, Missouri. This leading engineering company is developing their Kansas City team, and are looking for entry-mid level Mechanical Designer to report directly to their Director of Design and Technology.


As a Mechanical Designer you will be responsible for the following:

  • Design and route piping systems, layouts, or model 3D equipment for power plant systems.
  • Plan and develop drawings for production, including problem analysis, design layout, and calculations.
  • Quality check 3D models for interferences and constructability optimizations.
  • Resolve comments on checked drawings and implement feedback.
  • Complete as-builts using RFIs, ECNs, and red-marked drawings to develop “Conformed to Construction Records.”
