Camera Operator/Videographer

Location: Eden Prairie, MN (ONSITE)

Duration: 6-month contract

Pay rate: $40-$45/hr


Robert Half's client is looking for Studio Camera Operator / Videographer for its state-of-the-art video production studio. This multi-role position will be responsible for recording and editing content during preproduction and operating cameras during studio events. First-hand knowledge of cinema cameras equipment and lighting techniques is essential. Desire to work and learn in a broadcast control environment also preferred. This position will also support the design team with post-production so knowledge of editing equipment and processes is crucial.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate robotic cameras during studio events
  • Operate field cameras and lighting systems to capture prerecorded content in studio or on location
  • Assist studio team with other broadcast control roles and tasks as assigned
  • Perform basic post-production tasks as required
  • Assist creative team with editing task if required
  • Ensure final recordings are logged and delivered to proper locations
  • Secure and maintain all studio and camera equipment
  • Work with producing staff to deliver content in a timely manner


Required Skills:

  • 3 years of experience in production environment / camera operation or equivalent
  • Knowledge of professional 4K/UHD camera systems
  • Knowledge of live audio recording
  • Knowledge of studio and on-location lighting systems and techniques
  • Working knowledge of shot selection and composition terminology, scopes, waveform, vector etc. and related tools
  • Self-motivated and creative storyteller
  • Ability to quickly respond and solve technical issues/problems
  • Ability to communicate well and stay calm under pressure
  • Adaptable and flexible in a changing work environment
  • Approach tasks and duties with a positive attitude
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro on PC and Mac-based systems
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and work at heights from ladders or similar equipment
  • Ability to work from a standing position for a 2-4 hour period
  • Valid Driver's License


Preferred Skills:

  • Additional knowledge of broadcasting studio equipment
  • Knowledge of other Adobe Creative Cloud apps
  • Knowledge of Sony FX9 cameras or similar
  • Knowledge of Ross Cambot robotic camera systems or equivalent
  • Ross XPression Carbonite and Ultrix systems
