Position Title: BI Developer / Analyst

Location: Redmond, WA.

With minimal supervision, creates and documents Business Intelligence (BI) solutions that are easily maintained by others.

Tests and debugs solutions and ensures that technical standards are followed. Participates in implementing the overall solution build and promotion processes. May assist in preparing detailed specifications from which solutions will be written.

Works with architects and senior developers/analysts to ensure the effective implementation of the detailed technical designs into the resulting solution produced.

Works with the infrastructure and software development teams to define and document deployment processes and scripts. May also provide technical support to users.

May lead small to medium-sized projects.- With limited guidance, interfaces with business customers, gather requirements, designs, develops, and implements medium-sized BI and/or data warehousing solutions, leverages best practices such as incremental updates, dimensional data modeling, and semantic data layers- With limited guidance, interfaces with other teams to extract, transform, and load data from a variety of data sources using ETL, data replication, and data integration approaches as appropriate- Provides on-going solution support including technical troubleshooting, assistance with how-to use BI tools, and sharing knowledge on business data relationships.

Performs customer utilization research activities to better understand how customers are using BI tools.

Promotes and drives the adoption of BI and data analysis tools by a broad employee base.

Recognizes and adopts best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.

Contributes to the automation, simplification, and overall improvement of BI reporting and analysis processes.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

Experience:

Minimum of six (6) years of progressive, relevant information technology experience.

  • Proficient in solving highly complex problems and technical issues- Proficient in performing highly complex analysis.
  • Highly proficient in offering suggestions regarding improvements or enhancements to current tasks, assignments, and projects. Demonstrates ability to recommend improvements outside of current work scope.
  • Skilled in working with high level of autonomy.
  • Proficient at leading small to medium-sized projects.
  • Proficient at conflict resolution, time management, process and data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and risk management.
  • Proficient understanding of ITSM. Committed to delivering data required for ITSM metrics.
  • Has a broad understanding of the Weyerhaeuser business model and the underlying business processes, and a deep understanding in certain areas.
  • Able to apply business knowledge to develop and deliver innovative, value-added improvements.
  • Developing understanding of IT risks/controls and accounting/finance processes.
  • Proven ability to operate and effectively communicate while under pressure, as well as the ability to manage a diverse workload and work under time constraints with minimal supervision.
